  LAKES, Vernon E. "Junior" Jr. Age 63, of Franklin, Ohio went to be
with the Lord on Saturday May 26, 2007 at Brookville Lake in Brookville,
Indiana. Vernon was born in Berea, Kentucky on July 5, 1943 to Ermon
and Myrtle (Isaacs) Lakes. He retired from Conrail Railroad and served
as a member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Party in Warren
County for the past six years. Vernon graduated from Franklin High School
and was on the 1960 undefeated football team. He enjoyed fishing and
assisting his neighbors with odd jobs. Vernon was preceded in death by
his parents and a brother Clemie Lakes. Surviving are three sons Jeff
Lakes of Bentonville, Arkansas, Steve Lakes and Jason Lakes both of
Franklin; a brother Elvie Lakes of Hagerstown, Indiana; a sister Etta
Rothwell of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren Justin and Allison Lakes,
Lauren, Jonathan, and Rebecca Lakes. Funeral services are Wednesday May
30, 2007 at 2p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home 40 N. Main St Springboro,
Ohio. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8p.m. at the funeral home.
