Bakersfield Californian; Bakersfield CA; 2007-3-2 Truman Lakin 1910 - 2007 Truman Lakin was born in Marlow, Oklahoma and died of congestive heart failure in Bakersfield, California. Services will be held in Siloam Springs, Arkansas (Wasson Funeral Home). Truman was married to Allie Cox Lakin who died in 1991. They left Oklahoma as "Dust Bowl" migrants, and settled in Arvin, California where they lived for over 40 years. Truman owned a Blacksmith/ Welding business there. Truman's children: Della Luttrell of Colcord, Oklahoma; Freada (and Delmar) Blanchard of Orovada, Nevada; Colleen (and Roy) Price of Dustin Acres, CA; Truman (and Marty) Lakin; and Larry (and Carol) Lakin of Bakersfield, CA. His 12 grandchildren: Glenda, Denise, and Lonnie Luttrell; James and Sherry Blanchard; David and Terry Price; Kim, Lori and Alan Lakin; and Paula and Wendy (Lakin). He also has a passel of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Truman loved hunting and fishing with his sons, a good laugh, dominoes and wood working. Three years ago he confessed Jesus as Lord of his life. He last resided at Evergreen Healthcare in Bakersfield.
