Denton Record-Chronicle; Denton TX; 2003-12-4 LEWISVILLE -- Robert Lee Lakey, age 54, of Lewisville passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at his home. He was born Nov. 5, 1949, in Panola County, Miss., to Shuford Bob and Erma C. Davis Lakey. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Mad Dog Racing Club. Robert married Barbara Jean Atkins on May 15, 2000, in Lewisville. Robert worked as a mechanic and he and his wife Barbara Jean own and operate Barbara Jean's Main Street Cafe. Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean; two daughters, Angela Gentry of Lewisville and Shannon Lakey of Fort Worth; four sons, Ronnie Gentry of Lewisville, Heath Gentry of Lewisville, Josh Lakey of Fort Worth and Cody Lakey of Fort Worth; three sisters, Sandy Lakey of Lewisvlle, Betty Lakey of Longview and Bertha Lakey of Mississippi; two brothers, Barry Lakey of Lewisville and Jimmy Lakey of Lewisville; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Loftin and Joe Lakey. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Mulkey-Mason Chapel. Pastor Jack Howard will officiate. Burial will follow at Chinn's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements.
