He was born April 15, 1912, in Columbus, Ohio, and came to Sarasota in 1981 from Mansfield, Ohio. He was the retired owner and operator of Todd's Jewelry Store in Mansfield. He graduated from Ohio State University in Columbus and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Mason and a member of Scottish Rite. He was a field director with the American Red Cross in World War II. Survivors include a nephew, Laurence Jacobs of Honolulu; and a sister, Bernice Block of Norfolk, Va. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel.
