LAKINS, MARY BROOKS - age 87 of Blaine, (TN), passed away peacefully
Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was a member
of Block Springs Baptist Church and several clubs and organizations. She
was retired after 37 years as Director of Grainger County Health
Department. She is preceded in death by parents, Mifer Brooks and
Laura Branson Brooks; husband, Donald Lakins; and husband, J. Edgar
Davis. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Montgomery;
granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kristin and Scott Hodge; stepson and
stepdaughter-in-law, Don and Gayle Davis of Rutledge; stepgranddaughter,
Andrea Davis; nephew and wife, Freddie and Barbara Harrell of Maryville;
brother-in-law, Lonnie Lakins of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Jean Davis
of Rutledge; several nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces,
and many devoted friends. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Thursday,
January 29, 2009, in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home with Dr. Wayne
Ballard officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 AM Friday at
Grainger Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 AM interment.
