Dayton Daily News; Dayton OH; 2004-10-25 LAKES-POWELL, Marline departed this life Sunday Oct. 24, 2004 in Berea, KY after an extended illness. She was born in Jackson Co. KY Dec. 8, 1931 the daughter of the late Bart J. and Maggie Morris Lakes. She lived her early life in Jackson Co. and is a graduate of McKee High School class of 1951. She was a member of the Baptist Church and attended the Silver Creek Baptist Church in Berea. She retired from General Motors with 30 years of service. Marline is survived by her husband Lendon Powell and they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary Sept. 1, 2004. She was preceded in death by her only child Anthony Powell (1970). Marline is survived by 3 sisters and 3 brothers: Mildred Roland of Miamisburg, OH. Marie Rader of McKee, KY. and Margaret Spicer of Berea, KY. Manuel (Bonnie) Lakes of Berea, KY. Murrell (Ardean) Lakes of McKee, KY. and Melvin "Blue" (Rosetta) Lakes of McKee, KY. and Step mother Belle Judd Lakes of Grayhawk, KY. Her other family The Powells: Ora Lee Isaacs of Michigan. Russell (Sue) Powell of Sand Gap, KY. Wayne (Fannie) Powell of Lexington, KY. Bonnie (Forester) Isaacs of McKee, KY. Randy (Wavelene) Powell of McKee, KY. Diane Powell of Ohio, and Father in law Owen Powell of McKee, KY. and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private, with burial in the Berea Cemetery.
