Marion L. 'Swede' Lakey
Catching Creek -- Graveside services for Marion L. "Swede" Lakey, 81, of Catching Creek,
will be held at 2pm Monday at Catching Creek Cemetery, with Pastor Larry Martindale
officiating.
He was born 5 Apr 1914 at Eugene and died 14 Feb 1996 at Catching Creek of natural
causes.
He and Millie Bushnell were married 29 Jun 1935 at Coquille.  He has lived at Catching
Creek since 1945.
Mr. Lakey operated a log trucking business for a number of years, and he also operated
heavy logging equipment in the woods.
Survivors include a daughter, Arlene Johnson of Myrtle Point; a brother, Dick Lakey of
Lakeside; two sisters, Garnet Morris and Madge Spencer, both of Eastside; seven
grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie on 29 Apr 1991; and a son, Ron Lakey in
1978.
