LEONARD "SONNY" LAKIN Middletown, N.Y. Leonard "Sonny" Lakin, of
Middletown, a retired cab driver in Middletown and longtime resident
of the area, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at home. He was 66. The
son of Leonard and Arvilla Smith Lakin, he was born March 11, 1937
in Kerhonkson. Survivors include his companion, Beverly Constant;
his daughter, Leona of North Carolina; his brother, Ronald Lakin of
Ellenville; and his sisters, Ruth Lakin of Port Jervis, Christine
Damms of Ellenville, Carol Hertle of Napanoch and Myrtle Kilter of
Pine Hill, N.Y. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He
was predeceased by his brother, George Lakin. Funeral services will
be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made in his name to the Hospice of Orange, 800 Stony
