Toronto Star; Toronto ON Canada; 2007-04-14 LAKEY, Laura (nee Rogers) - Born in Brooklin, October 18, 1921. Died suddenly after 85 years, April 10, 2007. Laura served as a Sergeant in the C.W.A.C. during WWII. She led an active and healthy life and will be missed by her daughter Lynda (Robert) Nesbitt of Newtonville, grandchildren Todd (Cheryl) Nesbitt and great-grandchildren Ben and Amy, Kathy (Bob) Nesbitt and great- granddaughter Tabitha, and son Tom (Judy) Lakey of Brockville, grandchildren Megan Lakey, Andrea (Aaron) Lakey and great-granddaughter Gabriella. Also missed by only surviving brother Ivan (Dorothy) Rogers and sister-in-law Aileen. At her request, Laura's body has been donated to the Department of Anatomy at U. of T. Our celebration of her life will be held privately.
