Lakey, 58, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., KCK. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lakey died Tuesday, Dec 18, 2001, at Providence Medical Center. He was born Dec. 10, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., and had been a lifetime resident of the metropolitan area. He was in the Navy from 1966 to 1971. He had worked for Simmons Mattress in manufacturing, for Price Brothers in quality control, SRS as a driver for foster children, and most recently maintenance for KCK Housing Authority. His father, George E. Lakey, and one brother, George William "Billy" Lakey, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Sherilyn Lakey, of the home; two sons, Steven Lakey, KCK, and Craig Lakey, Kansas City, Mo.; one duaghter, Adrienne Lakey, Lenexa, Kan.; his mother, Della M. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sherilyn K. Lakey of the home; three children, Steven (Renee) Lakey, Kansas City, KS, Craig (Shannon) Lakey, Kansas City, MO, Adrienne Lakey, Lenexa, KS; two grandchildren, Aaron and Taylor Lakey, Kansas City, MO; his mother, Della M.
