Mr. Lakes came to Brevard County in 1949 from Midville, Ga., where he was born. He was a member of the American Poolplayers Association in Brevard County and Bishop Pool League in Indialantic. Survivors include his companion, Cassandra Johnson; daughters, Mary-Ann Lakes, Annie Lakes, Mary Lakes, Pam McCullough and Ebony Jackson, all of Melbourne; sons, Ronnie Lakes and Ricky Lakes, both of Melbourne, and Willie Lakes of Delray; stepsons, Larry Johnson, Ernest Johnson and Stefon Johnson, all of Palm Bay, and Richard Wilson of Kingstree SC; stepdaughters, Tilena Vital and Damisha Johnson, both of Palm Bay; sisters Elliza Lakes and Daphaine Jones, both of Waynesborgo, Ga., Ella Holmes and Trudie Wells, both of Millen, Ga., and Lizzie Smith and Annie Lambert, both of Alexander, Ga.; brothers, Phelix Lakes of Fort Lauderdale, Charlie James of Millen, Henry Lakes Jr. of Alexander, John Lakes II, Alphonsona Lakes and Joe Lakes, all of Waynesboro, Ga.; 24 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Buggs Funeral Home in Melbourne. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Melbourne. Burial will be at Grant Street Community Cemetery in Melbourne.
