Idaho Statesman; Boise ID; 2000-8-4 J. Dale Lakey, 89, of Boise, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Cloverdale Funeral Home. Interment will follow the services at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 12, 1911, at Council, Idaho, to John and Ella Lakey. He spent most of his young adult life in the Parma-Nyssa area where he met the love of his life Lucile Dail. They wre happlily married for 30 years during which Dale worked in farming, mining and road and dam construction. They had three children who produced 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. The tragedy of cancer took his sweetheart from him in 1962. He was proudly a member of Boise Lodge Elks #310. Dale is survived by his wife, Helen K. Lakey; two daughters, Janet L. Wilder (Ray) of Meridian, Barbara K. Brown (Dewey) of Vancouver, Wash.; and a son, Jimmie D. Lakey of Boise. A viewing for friends and family will be held this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cloverdale Funeral Home.
