She married Calvin M. Lakin on June 7, 1941, in Kansas City; he preceded her in death March 27, 1997. Mrs. Lakin was active in the early formation and founding of Unity Farm. She was born March 18, 1920, in Kansas City, Mo., and was involved in the early formation and founding of Unity Farm, a Christian retreat in Kansas City. She was founder of the Port Huron, Mich., Little Theatre Group and had taught English in Afghanistan. Survivors include three daughters, Calla Baker of St. Petersburg, Clare Harvey of Ottawa and Laurie Sams of Sarasota; a sister, Dorothy L. Rice of Lakewood, Colo.; and six grandchildren. Services will be in Ottawa, where Mueller Funeral Homes is in charge.
