Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holly Grove Church in Drew with Elder J.D. Lakes officiating. Burial will follow at the Lakes Family Cemetery in Drew under the direction of Byas Funeral Home of Ruleville. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Survivors include six sons, J.D. Lakes of Tupelo, Elvoid Lakes III, of Upper Marlboro, Md., Melvin E. Lakes of Richland, Wash., Bruce E. Lakes of Drew, Rodney L. Lakes of Greenville and Cedric U. Lakes of Clinton; five daughters, Thelma Anderson and Glady J. Lakes, both of Memphis, Catherine L. Lawrence of Orlando, Fla., Marian Lakes Winters of Drew and Gail R. Lakes of Stafford, Va.; three brothers, Manuel Lakes of Memphis, Joe Louis Lakes of Clarksdale, Charles Earl Lakes of Brazil, Miss.; four sisters, Rosie Lee Lakes of Memphis, Maybell L.
