Escondido North County Times; Escondido CA; 2002-5-29 Edward Laker, 83 Ramona -- Edward "Ed" B. Laker, 83, died Sunday, May 26, 2002, in San Diego. Born Feb. 4, 1919, in St. Louis, Mo., he lived in Ramona for 24 years. He owned Laker Precision machine shop, where he designed, manufactured and patented aids for musicians of wind instruments. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Laker was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Myrtle "Dude" Laker, in 1998. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Bill and Mary Laker of Simi Valley; daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Frank Wenthur of Toronto, Ohio, and Judy and Brad Bradrick of San Diego; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Ramona. Private burial will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary is handling arrangements.
