Dayton Daily News; Dayton OH; 2000-5-19 LAKIN, Edward D Age 69 formerly of Detroit, MI. Departed this life Saturday, May 13, 2000. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, husband and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Virginia Lakin. Ed was third in his graduating class from Notre Dame in 1954 with a Aero Engineering degree. He retired from WPAFB in 1993. After a brief vacation he went to work at the law firm of Bieser, Greer, & Landis as a paralegal. He was an Ohio Fellow, member of Notre Dame Alumni Association, Garden Coordinator at the Founder's Family Center and belonged to numerous local organizations. he loved ball room dancing, music and reading. he is survived by his loving family of two sons; Dana E. Lakin, Brian E. Lakin (Tina); two daughters: Angela M. Lakin, all of Dayton, and Cristal S. Lakin of New York; granddaughter, Andria M. Kearney, and a grandson, Andre E. Lakin; godson, Andre Etienne; former wife, Mary C. Lakin; friend Rodney S. Smith, also his special friends Jennie Sethna, Zubin and Zerrine Sethna and many relatives. Memorial services will be Friday, May 19, 2000 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Mr. Lakin's remains were donated to Wright State University to further medical research. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the Dayton Public Library.
