SunCity AZ--Edna Mae Lakin, 73, of Sun City, AZ, formerly of Lincoln IL died
Friday, July 9, 1999, at Hearthstone of Sun City Care Facility.
She was born June 22, 1926, in Lincoln IL, the daughter of Harry and Edna
Ackerson.  She married Kenneth R Lakin in 1962 in Clinton.
Mrs Lakin and her husband farmed for many years in the Beason area.  She was
also co-owner, secretary and treasurer for Ken-Ed Co Inc.
She was a member of Fountain of Life Lutheran church, Sun City, AZ, former
member of Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln and Chestnut, where she taught
Sunday school, a member of the church choir and Lutheran Women's Missionary
League, and a member of Logan County HOme Extension.
Survivors; husband, Kenneth R; three sons, Larry Lakin of Widefield, CO; Gary
Lakin of Springfield and Roger Lakin of Dunlap; two daughters, Carol Rohlfs of
Ashland and Connie Casper of Onalaski, WI; 10 grand children; two
great-granchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Edna Ackerson of Decatur;
and a sister, Beverly Boyer of Decatur.
Memorial services; 11 a.m. July 24, Zion Lutheran Church, Lincoln, the Rev
Mark Carnahan officiating.  Interment; Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.
