Passed away Sunday, August 2, 1998 at Covenant Medical Center- Cooper. Age
74 years. She was born May 8, 1924 in Saginaw. She was married to Donald M.
Laking on September 1, 1950. He predeceased her in February 1978. She had
been employed by Bavarian Inn retiring after 20 years of service. She was a
member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Richville, also a volunteer with
Saginaw Area Hospitals. She received a Gold Medal in Senior Olympics.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn A. and husband Peter Navarre, Beverly
A. and husband Robert Jacobs, Susanne L. and husband David Kuhl, one son,
Duane A. Laking and wife Diane; grandchildren, Robert G. Jacobs II, Stephen
C. and Julie A. Schnell, Nicholas A. and Joseph D. Laking, Jessica A.,
Christopher D. and Matthew R. Kuhl; beloved friend, Carl Simmet. Her parents
Irma and Lloyd Reinbold predeceased her. Funeral services will take place
1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 1998 at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 3455 S.
VanBuren Rd., Richville. Pastor Wesley Gillaspie and Vicar Aaron will
officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the
Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 525 W. Tuscola from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
on Tuesday and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, she
will lie in state at the church on Thursday from noon until 1:00 p.m. Those
planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Venor
Performing Arts or St. Michael's School, Richville.
