Former Grants Pass resident Donna Lakin, 65, of Portland died Friday. Oct
19, 2007, in Portland.

A private service will be held in Portland and Neptune Cremation society
will scatter her cremains at sea.  A local celebration of her life will
be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Nov 7.  Call 476-9280 for more information.

She was born Donna Beale. July 1. 1942, in Glendale, Calif.  On Oct. 29,
1961, in Compton, Calif., she married Michael Lakin, who survives.
She was a model and worked with children for many years while she raised
her family.

In 1989, she moved to Grants Pass, where she was the office manager
and volunteer coordinator for Coalition for Kids from 1991 to 1994.
She moved to Portland in the summer of 2007.

She enjoyed helping others and sharing her positive outlook on life.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Lori Lakin
and Angela Albert; and three grandchildren.
