Published in The Oklahoman on August 27, 2009 Oklahoma City OK David Gordon Lakey, 77, of Oklahoma City, passed away Monday, August 24, 2009. He was born July 17, 1932 In San Antonio, TX. Mr. Lakey worked as a refrigeration journeyman before he retired. He drove a truck for several years and built fences also. He was preceded in death by his mother Grace T. Lakey, and father John Lakey, brothers John Jr., Owen, Richard, and Howard Lakey and his sisters Betty Moots and Julia Lakey. He is survived by his wife Betty Lakey of Oklahoma City, Glenn Webber and David Lee Cohn, 1 brother, Joe Clyde Lakey of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, nieces and nephews, Thelma Campbell, Shiela and Gene King, Harlon and Lisa Lollar, and Steven Michael Kelly, Joey Lakey and Gracey Lakey of Tennessee; Robert Moots, Howard Moots, Roger Moots and Rebecca Peterson, and numerous grand nieces and nephews and friends. Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 29 at 3:00 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1320 SW 38th St. in Oklahoma City.
