 Bill Lakin, 74, died in Roseville on
June 14, 1999. Born in Quincey, Ill.,
he had lived in Loomis for 22 years and
lived in Rocklin for the past five years.

 Mr. Lakin is survived by his wife
Alice, of 35 years.

             Bill Lakin

          Died June 14, 1999

  Bill Lakin, 74, died in Roseville on
June 14, 1999. Born in Quincey,
Illinois, he lived in Loomis for 22 years
and lived in Rocklin for the last 5 years. Mr.
Lakin was a U.S. Navy for 25
years, serving in World War II and
Korea. He was a local private investi-
gator fir 18 years, 19 years as a reserve
deputy with Placer County Sheriff's
Department and formerly with the city
of San Diego.

  Mr. Lakin is survived by his wife,
Alice, of 35 years; children, Kimberly
Lakin of Fair Oaks, Bruce R. Lakin of
Chico and Gweneth L. Lakin of Toluca
Lake: and two grandchildren.

  A memorial service will be held
Saturday, June 19, 1999 at 11 a.m. at
First United Methodist Church, 6414
Brace Road, Loomis, Calif. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be make in his
memory to the Special Olympics of
Northern California, 1600 Sacramento
