On Wednesday last, say the Gazette, a daughter of Nicholas LAKE, aged
about five years, living near Wertsville, in this county, met with a
painful accident by falling into a kettle of boiling lye.  She was at
the time playing with her little sisters, and carelessly backing against
the kettle, fell over into it and was scalded about her limbs, abdomen
and hands, in a horrible manner.  The little sufferer is present doing
remarkably well under the circumstances.
