I'm no relation to the Lake family, but I'm an attorney, and about 25 years ago I searched a title involving the Lake family. Thus, you may wish to add the following to the Lake genealogy. Jesse J. Lake 1.1.1.2.3 Hunterdon County Surrogate's Docket 2,271 in Flemington died 11/26/1897 testate widow: Matilda Lake son: Charles K. Lake daughter: Ora Lake daughter: Emma Barnes Sarah E. Lake Union County Surrogate's Docket 17,491 in Elizabeth died 10/27/1917 intestate son: Jesse J. Lake Charles K. Lake Union County Surrogate's Docket 48,680 in Elizabeth born 9/5/1857 died 8/16/1942 intestate sole heir: Jesse J. Lake (son) Gertrude K. Lake Union County Wills O-13 page 46 in Elizabeth died 8/4/1965 testate widow: Ruth S. Lake (his second wife) son: Finley S. Lake daughter: Helen Lake McDonough Also, your web site indicates that Jesse J. Lake who died on 11/26/1897 was buried in Belvidere. Actually, he and his widow Matilda were buried in the Bloomsbury cemetery. Bloomsbury is on both sides of the Musconnetcong River; the burial site is on the Warren County side of the river.
