Here's something from the 1910 census in Hillsboro, Somerset Co NJ.

Lake, Evans (?)   46   married 13 yrs        NJ           butcher, shop
Lake, Lise (?)    38   3 children/3  living  NJ, Ger, Ger
Lake, Edward E.   12                         NJ
Lake, Loryn B.    10   dau
Lake, Sophia           dau

Evans and Lise have been married 13 years in 1910.  He is a butcher.
His wife was born in NJ, both of her  parents are from Germany.  And the
three children they have (so far, I  don't know if there were more)
are listed.  B. in Loryn's name must stand for Boehm.
